Giles Mandelbrote, Librarian and Archivist, Lambeth Palace Library, London. He is a scholar of sixteenth-century English religious printing, and of the use of libraries in the defense of religious orthodoxy by the Reformation archbishops of Canterbury, leaders of the Church of England. Lambeth Palace Library contains their personal libraries and many heterodox books which they confiscated, and which survive nowhere else. He plans to co-lead our July 20 seminar session on English Bible translation and reading and offer a presentation on this topic from the standpoint of Lambeth’s collections. He also plans to speak to participants about their individual research projects, and join our book exhibition on July 22.
