Public History Graduate student Evelyn Riley interned at the Danville River Foundation in Danville, VA where she collected and transcribed oral histories, identified and created an advisory committee of local citizens that met monthly to collaborate on their community’s history,
Matthew Sharpe interned at the National Rifle Association/The National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, Virginia. Matt contributed to the museum’s inventory records, helped with museum design and exhibit fabrication, aided in packing collections, and maintained communications with 120 affiliated gun clubs.
Public History Graduate student Victoria M. Edwards worked at the Rockingham County Courthouse processing old deeds and road and bridge petitions. Many of the documents had been untouched for over a century and needed to be evaluated, organized and repaired.
