The ongoing and uncertain COVID situation is making internship planning difficult. We remain hopeful that vaccinations will ramp up in time to open up summer positions.

In the History Department at JMU we encourage our majors to seek practical experience applying their history skills outside the classroom. Combined with HIST 340/640 Internship course credit, internships give students practical experience in using historical skills in a wide variety of settings ranging from museums to archives and historical research firms. Browse “Internships by Region” to find ideas of where you might want to apply for an internship. Look under “Paperwork” for links to procedures and contract info.
