The Heritage Museum is eager to fill a Public History internship for the Spring Semester (2017). The Intern will contribute to the development of two small exhibition spaces relating Harrisonburg and Rockingham County African-American history during periods of Slavery and Reconstruction. The completed spaces will update permanent galleries.

Working in collaboration with staff and volunteers, the Intern will develop exhibit content and assist with in exhibit design. The Project may include working with PastPerfect Museum Software, analyzing the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Historical Society Archives and Artifacts, and coordinating related programs.

The Intern will gain insight into museum management and have the opportunity to attend meetings with museum decision-makers and the Board of Trustees. Please contact Penny Imeson, Executive Director, director@heritagecenter.com.
