For my outreach event I invited people within my major. I also reached out to my professors and they reached out to the IA Sophomores and that is who consisted of my audience. I decided since we all basically live in the ISAT building that I would make a smaller replica for them to print.

I made this through Tinkercad by using cubes, roof shape, and cube holes. It only took me about 20 minutes to make this design. For this to print under an hour I had to scale the design in either the Ultimaker or the Lulzbot depending on what was available for use during my event. They all relatively took about 40 minutes to fully print (this includes the machine warming up and cooling down).

I taught them how these machines work and how simple Tinkercad is to use and told them to mess around with it for a few minutes. Then I taught them how to download the design I made as an .STL file from Tinkercad and then take either the USB or the SIM card to download it and then how to officially print them on the machines.

Seen here is the dimensions of the print through the Lulzbot which is almost exactly the same in the Ultimaker.

They all got to see how each print progressed as it got closer to the end of being finished. They were a very intrigued group and had fun learning the basics about these 3D printers and what they consist of.

Here are some pictures from the event!
