Fix It – Jake Meador Michael Busch

For our fix it project we chose to fix the broken cat toy. The toy is broken and can not be held out straight for optimum cat fun. So we decided to print tubes over top of the 2 broken sections. We do this by stopping the print half way and placing the cat toy onto the print and then resume the print sealing the toy.

The design is very similar to the ring that we previously made. However it is much taller and the ring itself is smaller.

Here is the final print. It turned out very well when we used the ultimaker, but when we used  the lulzbot, the print did not come out how we wanted. Pausing the print and resuming it after we put the toy in the tube worked properly but the tubes are a little too loose on the toy. We suggested to the owner that she should hot glue the tubes so that they don’t slide around

Here is the toy in action. It works and will hopefully bring the cat and the owner some joy!
