David and I fixed the problem with the power button on a wii remote. It was broken because it was hard to press the power button for it to turn on. The button would only work if you pressed it in a certain spot, but fingers were too large to press the button in that exact spot. We decided to create a piece that could be put on the remote as well as taken off so that the person can play the wii without anything interfering with the game. It took us a few tries to get the sizing right with the attachable piece. First we made it too small and then when we measured the remote again, we used that measurement to create the new piece.

After we got the new measurement and tested to make sure that it was the correct size, we added a sphere to one end of the piece. This is to help press the power button in the correct spot so that the wii remote would turn on every time the button was pressed. We tested the print again. It was too small to fit over the remote because we added the sphere to the inside of the print.

Next, we made the print a little large so that the sphere would make it over the side of the remote. We got it to work and now the person can put the piece onto the remote to turn on the remote, and be able to take it off when playing so that the piece doesn’t cover the sensor needed to play.
