For our latest project, I created a ring using Fusion 360 and Meshmixer. I used a template from our class to create the overall design of the ring, however it took me a few times to get the sizing right. Eventually, I was able to get a ring that fit my fingers perfectly.

At first I had no idea what design to put onto my ring as I have never had a ring outside of sporting events, and had no idea what kind of designs may be on rings. After a little thought, I went with footprints engraved in the ring as a symbol of the Footprints in the Sand poem, one that my mom and grandmother have always preached and it has meaning to me.

Getting the actual prints in Meshmixer took quite a while, but eventually I was able to make sure the ring was smooth, and the footprints were visibile, but still looked as though they were formed in sand.

I am quite proud of my project and can’t wait to see the finished product!
