Founded in 2003, this 501(C)(3) organization welcomes nearly 60,000 annual visitors to explore eleven hands-on exhibit galleries on the first floor of a 3-story facility located in downtown Harrisonburg, VA.

Internship Details: The Discovery Museum currently has one Development Internship position for the spring of 2015. Responsibilities include:  *   Manage database and assist with preparation of reports

*   Communicate with donors, members, volunteers, and sponsors

The selected applicant may adapt the focus of the internship to meet their individual interests and skills. They may also chose to develop a special semester-long project that can be tailored to further provide experience and portfolio work.

Applicants should be self-motivated, fast learners, able to effectively manage multiple tasks, and willing to work as part of a team. The museum environment is an exciting one of constantly shifting priorities, needs, and projects, so the ideal candidate will be adaptable, creative, and possess a strong dedication to the mission of the organization.
