Hello everybody my name is Lawrence Root!

I am a senior statistics major at James Madison University. I am from Vienna, Virginia (in Fairfax county), although I have lived over seas for the first ten years of my life, mostly in Latin America. I was born in Peru because of my mom (Where my dad met my mom through work) and then moved around from there every 2-3 years to other designated locations determined by my dad’s work. My favorite place I lived in would probably be Istanbul, Turkey, so because of that I love learning about ancient history and just history in general.

I work as a manager at a  Greek Restaurant in Vienna, Va called Plaka Grill, which has turned me into a foodie and given me much appreciation for other cultural foods. I hope to continue working there during some nights even after I find a regular 9-5 job after i graduate from JMU.

This is my first experience with 3-D printing and I’m very exited to learn the many skills that this class has to offer including creating cool designs. I really hope to use the skills I learn here in the outside world, whether that is through work or just recreational activity. I enjoy playing sports such as Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Football, etc. and other activities such as skiing, socializing, watching movies, and also just being productive in general.
