My name is Pablo and I am a fifty one year old industrial safety technician living in the city of Puebla in Mexico. Public education in Mexico and specifically the city of Puebla has been affected because classes were moved online but there are many communities that do not have the necessary services and those students whose studies are practical cannot develop to the fullest. My family and I move by bus but the problem is that there are new restrictive measures that decrease the number of people allowed to ride and only 50% of the bus’s capacity is allowed on. We try to stay home as much as possible and only go out for the necessary essentials with a masks on at all places. “The government does not force you, [to abide by the restrictions] so there are many people who are having parties, that they do not protect themselves and even if they have symptoms they do not go to the health service” Government aid goes to those in the community who are most in need and other businesses to reactive the economy. Tests are available to those who show symptoms and in the private private sector, tests cost $9,000 pesos ($454.98 USD) and for this reason it is not very accessible to the entire community. I think that the pandemic has caused many people to take health precautions that were not implemented as frequently before and taking these measures seriously.
