Mr. Kasbo, a Syrian-American filmmaker, will speak on his new documentary to be shown in June 2014 on public television. With historical immigration patterns as background, the film explores the personal stories of Arab-Americans and how they have contributed to the collective American experience since the early 1800’s. At a time when the media tends to paint Arab peoples and culture with the broad brush of terrorism, this film offers an alternative lens for our understanding of the Arab-American experience.

Please use outdoor Lots N4, N5 and N6 [bounded by South Main Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Way] on the University campus; these lots are located across Grace Street from Duke Hall where the lecture will take place. Parking without a permit in these lots will be allowed 6:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday, March 26^th.
