“Environmental friendly” has became a big part of the worldwide manufacturing industry. According to a study on three basic products in households; an orange juicer, a children’s building block and a waterspout,Joshua Pearce, an associate professor of materials science and engineering/electrical and computer engineering at Michigan Technology University concludes that 3D printing these items would take 41 percent to 64 percent less energy than making them in a factory and shipping them to the US ( http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/sc400093k ). However, 3D printing now has an ability to go further and cleaner than that.

Paper 3D Printer is introduced by Mcor Technologies Company to minimize the material cost in production to only 5% of other materials operating 3D printers. The idea behind it is just that other kinds of materials used in the industry are relatively expensive; the plastic filament used in general cost around $50 a spool. Simple A4 Paper, therefore, is an affordable, sustainable and abundant alternative which can also be easily decomposed- less environmental impacts. Due to the technology, the material is built to be strong enough, and can be added colors just like other any other 3D printing system. The printer now has been put into real use at Staples store in Almere in the Netherlands, and it can also be applied into other industry as well, such as architecture, product design or even medicine. Staples Company hopes to see the developed version of the printer that will be able to print photograph in 3-dimensions.
