Today I had the opportunity to interview Melissa Meyers and ask her about her cute penguin she printed out.

Ryan: What made you want to print a penguin?

Melissa: I really enjoy penguins and think they are cute creatures. However, at first I wanted to create an elephant. I found out quickly in Tinkercad, trying to create a trunk would be super difficult, instead of struggling, I went with a geometrically easy object which would be easy to create in Tinkercad.

Ryan: Did you find Tinkercad easy or difficult?

Melissa: Tinkercad was easy for those people who are not tech savvy or computer literate. If you want to make something more precise (Fusion 360 or openScad) you are pretty limited with the shapes you have on hand. You can use the community generated objects for some creative ones that are not pre-installed with Tinkercad.

Ryan: What has been the program you have felt ‘most comfortable’ with thus far?

Melissa: I feel Tinkercad has been the easiest program. I tried the others and I am just not a coder and 123D Design was pretty hard if you are not a design major or great with those types of programs.
