This semester our 3D printing class contained several members of the JMU organization University Program Board. All of us are very prominent in the organization and have enjoyed 3D printing tremendously this semester. Once we would finish a project or find something on Thingiverse to print out we would immediately show it to all our friends in UPB. Eventually so many people wanted to learn how to 3d print and wanted to print something so myself and Hannah Summers took a group of UPB members to the lab for an outreach event. During this event we were able to teach them how the 3D printers worked, how to set up the printer properl
y, and then eventually print. We also gave a quick tour of some of the programs we have worked on this semester such as 123d Design and Tinkercad. Before going into the outreach event, we created a UPB keychain design that the attendees could print out and use. They really enjoyed themselves and many have expressed interest in taking the lab in the upcoming semesters.
