The 3SPACE is JMU’s state of the art 3D printing classroom facility located in Burruss 349. While most colleges with similar facilities only offer access to those who are in math or science based majors, JMU allows anyone who is interested to hold class in the space.

One of these classes is ART 395E: 3D Printing for the Arts, an experimental course led by Daniel Robinson. This course involves learning how to use 3D printers to create artworks that would be difficult or impossible to make using traditional materials such as clay, plaster, wood or metal.
