The German Company Voxeljet has had a lot of economic success lately with a 77 percent increase in stock prices from 13 dollars a share to 26 dollars a share. This is due to the fact that their printers are very good at printing large items very quickly. This technology was utilized by the creators of the most recent James Bond movie to create the Aston Martin DB5, an extremely rare car which was ultimately destroyed in the movie.

This new technology is not just a beneficial growth for the 3D Printing industry, but is also helping the film industry. It allows for a lot of growth within the business because they can make props (cars, homes, people, etc.) that would reduce costs in destruction. They will also be able to make dynamic and intricate designs that could enhance the films. 3D printing was so beneficial to the James Bond Movie because the creators could destroy the extremely expensive DB5 without actually exploding a real car. Below is the video of the explosion of the Aston Martin DB5.

The large 3D printers used by Voxeljet are also used by car companies such as Ford and Daimler AG. The car companies use the large printers to print prototypes of their potential designs. This allows them to have a cheap way of seeing exactly what the car would look like in the real world without actually spending big bucks to have it made out of real materials. The film and auto industries are just two of many industries being affected by 3D printing and there is still much more to be discovered as to how the printers can be used.
