This morning half of our class boarded their flight to head home. The other half of us went to Mt. Kilimanjaro and got a small tour of the first gate. We saw many hikers and porters preparing for their journey. Depending on various conditions, it could take 5-7 days to complete the entire hike. There are 7 different gates and each gate has a different climate getting colder and colder. The highest point is 1800ams.
The rest of the day we spent preparing ourselves for the long flights ahead. We are very sad to leave all the great friends we have met. The people here have really touched our lives and provided us with many warm welcomes. We hope to come back one day and visit all the people we’ve met!
