Published in the 16th century Ming dynasty (1368-1644), the work of classical Chinese literature The Journey to the West can be interpreted and analyzed in many different ways. Each different interpretation is valuable to the over all read of the novel, but I argue that the political satire aspect is the most important. Research demonstrates that differing opinions on the read of the novel show that Eastern and Western scholars seems to interpret the novel different;y, why is this, and what aspects of The Journey to the West demonstrate why the political satire interpretations is the most important.
