Hola! Today was our first day of classes at Universitat Rovira i Virgili. We started off with pastries, coffee, and a nice welcome where we met the directors and reviewed the schedule for the weeks following. The most exciting part about this meeting was getting our clinical placements! We are scattered among the three hospitals within Tarragona. Later, we met our professors and had our first Spanish class. Majority of us were in the beginner class, but a select few were in the more advanced one. We regrouped after our class and ate lunch at the university’s cafeteria. Lastly, we visited the library and some of us signed up for a Spanish- speaking buddy. The rest of the day was opened to explore the city. Many of us chose to go to Playa de Arrabassada. We enjoyed sitting on the beach along with occasionally testing the ice cold water. We got treated to ice cream on the beach and then parted ways to have dinner with our host family! -Piper
