Today we started our day off with our clinical! I personally was in the ICU at Joan XXIII hospital. Throughout the week I had been in various units, which has been very interesting. In the ICU I observed the nurses role, which included changing bed sheets, distributing medicine, cleaning catheters, and assisting the doctors. The nurse I was shadowing assisted in a tracheotomy, which was really interesting and took place in the patients room. Once clinical ended, we enjoyed a nice lunch and gelato on the Ramblas. This afternoon we had class, with Erika and learned more about the history of Catalonia and compared statistics between Spain and the U.S. Catalonia became apart of Spain when Ferdinand and Isabella came to take back their land in Catalonia. It has also become one of the most industrialized and wealthiest region of spain. We also had our last Spanish class and played games and had a fiesta. To end the night we went to the port to have a cooking class, where they taught us to make gourmet tapas.
