Today was the start of new chapter for some of us in the group. Today was the day some of us stepped into a hospital for something other than to get checked by a Doctor. About 8 of us were placed in the hospital named Joan XXIII; we all are placed which different specialties in the same hospital.
Joan XXIII has the best trauma team in Tarragona & I was fortunate enough to be able to work with their Trauma team. We got to meet the different Docotrs & nurses from the floor whom all of which were very welcoming.
Although we thiught it was going to be a long day, observing from 8am-1pm, the day was busy enough to keep us learning & entertained by every individual case. It was interesting observing some of the differences between the health care system in Spain versus in the US. After an educational day at the hospital we end our day back at the university going over everything we did as well as attending our Spanish class. Overall today was a success for all of us and we look forward to the next two weeks of shadowing!
