The current MAL leadership team for User Operations has the following members of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at JMU:
- Adriana Banu (Professor) – Scientific Program Coordinator
- Tilda Pendleton – Laboratory Manager
- Harold Butner (Professor)
- Christopher Hughes (Department Head)
The Scientific Program Advisory Committee (SPAC) for the Madison Accelerator Laboratory has been established to advise the local leadership team on the proposed research programs, to suggest possible new research directions, and to offer guidance on large-scale equipment needs and possible facility upgrades. Guided by recommendations made by the SPAC, the MAL leadership team will assume responsibility for the decisions taken on the appropriate beam time allocation and infrastructure developments at the MAL.
