Below are my 20 objects that I created in Fusion 360. Beneath the screenshot below, I will provide a brief description of the design process behind certain items.
AA Battery Holder
This object was designed to hold AA batteries and dispense them so that they are not rolling around everywhere. I created this design by measuring the length of my AA batteries with calipers and sketching and extruding until I got the design I wanted.
Machine Bolt and Machine Nut
The design process behind these two items were pretty simple, taking about 5-10 minutes in total to design. The reason I call attention to these two objects was to mention how Fusion treats the threads it generates. When creating the threads, you have to make sure that the “Modeled” box is checked as it is not by default. If you do not check it, the threads will not print and you will tear your hair out figuring out what happened in the design.
Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber
Here’s a larger picture so you can get a good look at the model:
This is the object of my 20 that I am most proud of. If I had the chance to print it, I can imagine that it would look very similar to the real deal. Oddly enough, this was not a complex object to design. I simply imported a picture of it as a canvas into Fusion, traced a sketch of half of it, revolved it, and added some final details. I would love to get the chance to see this object printed.
