Our Team
Meet our interdisciplinary team of James Madison University undergraduate students as we work on developing our products. The six of us represent seven diverse courses of study, which not only helps to give us a balanced perspective, but also makes things much more fun. Cooper Casillas
Cooper Casillas is currently a sophomore at James Madison University working towards obtaining a bachelor of science degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Writing, Rhetoric, and Technical Communication. He has a keen interest in investment banking and analyzing economic markets. Post graduation, Cooper has career aspirations to work on Wall Street and eventually develop and lead his own business. He plans to build on experience gained from working on national defense issues with the U.S. House of Representatives Budget Committee on Capitol Hill to help the team effectively discover solutions to complex issues.
Maggie Donahue
Maggie Donahue is a senior International Affairs major and dual German and Political Science minor at James Madison University. Her intercultural communication and leadership skills are reflected through her work as an Outreach Intern in the Office of Alumni Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, her volunteer work with the refugee community of Harrisonburg, VA, and her efforts founding the Chi Chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon Foreign Service Fraternity her freshman year at JMU. Maggie hopes to channel her interests in foreign policy and public administration into a career in the Foreign Service and eventually run for public office.
Logan Shock
Logan Shock is a Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communications Major at James Madison University. He is an Air Science 300 Cadet with Detachment 890 out of UVA, upon graduation, he will commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. In addition to being a student, Logan owns a consulting and contracting company where he operates with the needs of the government with regards to intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. His ability to lead and valuable set of skills makes him an asset to any team.
Owen Joyce
Owen is a senior Political Science and Mathematics major at James Madison University. Owen has been dedicated to service to others, especially those who cannot stand up for themselves. and is excited about working with the US Department of State.
Olivia Woodson
Olivia Woodson is a Political Science major and a Modern European Studies minor at James Madison University. Her leadership and communication skills are reflected by being the former Vice President and Philanthropy Chair of Phi Sigma Pi Gender Inclusive Honor Fraternity. Along with holding these positions, Olivia was involved in international human rights research regarding the Syrian crisis. Olivia joined H4D to have to the opportunity to work on real-world problems and producing effective solutions. Olivia hopes to enhance her problem-solving and interpersonal skills through H4D. She is looking forward to working with her teammates and sponsors on these complex issues. Post-graduation, Olivia hopes to pursue a career within human and civil rights non-profit organizations then going into to law school.
Jacqui Finston
Nekm teluisit Jacqui Finston. Jacqui, Eel Ground First Nation (Mi’kmaq), is a senior Political Science major with a dual minor in Anthropology and Humanitarian Affairs at James Madison University. Her passions lie in Native Affairs and she has used her unique leadership skills to advocate for tribal sovereignty, cultural preservation and equal opportunity for Native youth at JMU and at the U.S. Department of Education as a former Policy Assistant. Jacqui hopes to offer a new perspective, as a young Native professional, in solving the problems presented in her Hacking for Defense (H4D) class. After graduating, Jacqui is looking forward to continuing her advocacy and promoting public health policy for Native communities.
