Working to increase transparency and accountability in the tracking of Army medical equipment as they move between field locations.

About

The Army is heavily dependent on medical devices to treat service men and women across the globe. When these devices require maintenance or recall, it is the responsibility of the United States Army Medical Material Agency to ensure their quick transport back to the Army’s domestic depots. This process becomes difficult when the transfer of devices between units goes undocumented. As it stands now, it can take several weeks to recall the devices due to the lack of an effective accountability and tracking system for individuals that interact with these devices. Our team has been tasked to design an effective way to track these FDA-approved medical devices while they are in the field, and provide a system of accountability so our problem sponsor has a clear picture of where these devices are at all times.
