The Future of Learning at JMU

Welcome to The Future of Learning at JMU, an experimental course supported by the offices of the President and the Provost and JMU X-Labs that took place during the Spring 2021 semester.

Twenty eight students participated in the course, eight from two Master’s programs in the College of Education (Educational Technology and Adult Education and Human Resource Development) and 20 students from undergraduate majors (Dance, Theatre, Psychology, Integrated Science and Technology, Writing, Rhetoric & Technical Communication, and Geographic Science).  The course was team taught by faculty from Psychology, Education, Writing Studies, Integrated Science and Technology Studies, and Student Affairs.

Together, the students and faculty used design and scenario planning methods to imagine what the future of education at James Madison University might look like in 2031. Access student team pages in the navigation bar at the top of this page, and learn more about the course here.
