STS Pedagogies
Creatively and Critically Engaging Our StudentsTeaching and Learning Together
Classroom Activities
The STS Futures Lab is committed to developing robust classroom activities, labs, and modules that support undergraduate learning in science, technology, & society.
Independent Research
We support undergraduate students in independent research as members of the Futures Lab and/or as capstone research mentees.
Conferences, Presenting, and Co-Presenting
We strive to enable students to present at conferences, sometimes co-presenting with us and sometimes presenting on their own.
Creating Community
We support student learning in STS in part through creating a community of students interested in STS.
Lab Time
We believe that a creative lab environment facilitates pedagogical innovation and scholarly community.
Beyond the Futures Lab
We want to connect to scholar-teachers interested in STS pedagogies across disciplinary, institutional, and geographic boundaries.
STS as a Critical Pedagogy Workshop
In the summer of 2021, we hosted a workshop on “STS as a Critical Pedagogy” funded by the National Science Foundation. We will update soon with a link to our collaborative manuscript.
