Harrisonburg, Virginia, – The Hornets tried their best to mount a win against the Oklahoma City Twisters but fell short with a final score of 117.36-86.76.
The Hornets were led by wide receiver Drake London, who had 18.30 points. London had 6 catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. London has proven to be a top receiver in the league this year and has produced at least 50 yards and a touchdown the last 3 games.
Tight end Kyle Pitts showed a lot of promise as he scored 13.50 points. Pitts had 7 catches for 65 yards and is looking like one of the better tight ends this season. He had a season high of 9 targets and proves to be a common weapon in the offense.
Wide receiver Garrett Wilson provided 13.10 points for the Hornets, as he had 5 catches for 61 yards. Wilson had a solid game but struggled with drops, costing the Hornets vital yards.
After the loss, quarterback Sam Darnold was frustrated and addressed the team
“That was a rough one, but I know how good this team is when we are clicking. We need to be better. We are the best team in the league so lets start acting like it. I wanna see some fire next week.”
The Hornets are now sitting at 3-4-0
The Hornets are looking to get back on a hot streak as they face a much weaker opponent in week 8, the Boston Fourth Quarter.
