OKLAHOMA CITY – The Twisters rack up 365 total yards and four touchdowns on the ground as they remain undefeated and beat the Harrisonburg Hornets at home 117.36 – 86.76.
OKC RB Derrick Henry lead the team in scoring with 25.20 points while rushing for 169 yards. He also caught a pass for 13 yards and a touchdown. Henry currently leads the league in total points scored with 160.50. RB Bijan Robinson followed closely with 23.30 points, his second straight 20+ point game, while rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown. He also caught three passes for 40 yards.
OKC RB Brian Robinson Jr. saw the starting lineup for the first time this season and capitalized with 13.10 points on 71 rushing yards and an eight-yard touchdown run.
OKC QB Jalen Hurts scored 22.76 points for the Twisters this week. He threw for 114 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 22 yards and two more touchdowns. Hurts’s performance this week was his second-highest-scoring game of the season.
“We just need to continue to build,” said Hurts when asked about his thoughts on the Twisters’ 7-0 start. “Everybody knows the type of ball we are capable of playing and that’s why we are held to [high] standards from everyone.”
The Twisters’ defense was making plays as well. They contributed 6.00 points to the victory and managed to intercept two passes and sack the Hornets QB three times.
Hornets WR Drake London led the team in scoring with 18.30 points. He did so with six catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. RB James Cook found the endzone for the Hornets as well. He had 9.20 points with 32 rushing yards, including his twelve-yard score.
The Twisters move to 7-0 on the season and remain atop the league standings. They hope to remain undefeated as they take on the Alaskan Bull Worms at the Twister Dome.
The Hornets fall to 3-4 and will try to get back to .500 as they head back home to take on the Boston Fourth Quarter.
