LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The Las Vegas Vipers ended their two-game win streak with a slippery week six loss of 79.42 to 115.36 against the Panama City Penguins. This defeat leaves the Vipers with a 2-4 record, placing them 9th overall in the league.

Despite a valiant effort from Vipers quarterback Jordan Love, who scored 25.62 points with four passing touchdowns and 263 yards, the team fell short in every other role.

The running back duo of James Conner and Jaleel McLaughlin combined for just 11 points, contributing to the ongoing struggles of the Vipers’ run scheme. Additionally, wide receiver Nico Collins was sidelined with a hamstring injury, resulting in zero points for the Vipers. The lack of production from this group has raised ongoing concerns about how the Vipers will compete against teams like the Panama City Penguins.

Following a monstrous 35.50-point performance from wide receiver Chris Godwin, the Penguins showcased their status as home to one of the most sought-after wide receiver corps in the league. Alongside Godwin, wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Amon-Ra St. Brown each contributed double-digit scores, totaling 33.40 points to assist in their dominant victory.

To get back in the win column, the Vipers will need to rediscover consistency across the board, allowing the team to flourish. While this may seem like a tall task, there have been glimpses of a resilient team throughout weeks four and five, instilling hope among the Viper faithful.

The Vipers look to return to the win column next week, in their matchup against the Baltimore Blue Crabs.
