Honolulu. – Moving into week 8, the Honolulu Hammerheads suffered a devastating loss to the Portland Porcupines, losing with a score of 142.74 to 172.00 by 29.26 points.
After the Hammerheads win last week against the St. Louis Bison’s, they were 3-4 and eager to keep up the winning streak but unfortunately couldn’t this week. The loss dropped the Hammerheads to 11th place in the league.
Hammerhead’s quarterback Jared Goff’s arm was an offensive fantasy powerhouse helping the Honolulu hammerheads win 36.64 fantasy points, throwing for over 320 yards and one receiving Touchdown.
Running back Miles Sanders continued to add to the Hammerhead’s success with nine carries for 78 yards rushing and banging one in for a touchdown, giving him a rushing TD in each of his last two games. As for Running back Dameon Pierce, the player added little to the Hammerheads win with only 35 yards rushing and a paltry 16 receiving yards.
Wide receiver Terry McLaurin had six catches for 113 yards and scored 17.60 fantasy points for the Honolulu Hammerheads this week.
Quarterback Jared Goff commented on the team’s loss in the post-game conference.
“The team put in a great effort against the Portland Porcupines. It was a great game and even when we lost, I’m reminded of what a strong team we have.”
Next week, the Hammerheads will play the Toronto Snow Tigers at Rogers Centre who are 6-2.
