THE OMAHA COBS HAVE ANOTHER DISAPPOINTING LOSS IN WEEK 3 AND ARE IN CRISIS MODE TO GET THE FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

PORTLAND, Or. – The Omaha Cobs traveled to Portland this week to battle the Portland Porcupines. It was a close battle, but ultimately the Porcupines pulled out the (118.4 – 105.86) in Week 3.

Head Coach for the Omaha Cobs, Cobblestone Corn-on-the-Cob Sr. said this after the loss, “I saw a lot of fight out of the Cobs this week. We did a lot of great things on the field this week and I am extremely proud of our team for the progress that we are making. Ultimately, we were not able to mesh all of our good play together at the right time but as I said we are making steps in the right direction. Next week will be a tough test, but we are accepting of this challenge and are excited for the opportunity to turn this season around.”

As mentioned above we had streaks of great play, but there were a lot of players that were non-impactful this week. To start with a positive, Kyler Murray had a solid week throwing for 314 yards. Amari Cooper also had a good week with over 100 yards in receiving and a touchdown. On the other hand, David Montgomery, Dawson Knox, and Jarvis Landry did not do much for the cobs this week. The three players combined for less than 150 total yards, leaving a massive hole in the cobs offense.

After the game, Jarvis Landry discussed his foot soreness and blamed that on some of his poor play. He said, “I should have been more aware of my foot problems prior to the game and done something to prevent the issue before the game started. I believe that I will be more prepared and well rested before our game next week and we will pull out our first win of the season.

The Cobs are expecting to shake the rust off after a tough week one. “The team has great confidence in their players as they roll into week 2,” said Cobblestone Corn-on-the Cob Jr. in the post-game interview. We are facing the Harrisonburg Valley Bees in week 2 and it will be a big momentum shifter for the rest of the season.

Next week the Cobs face an undefeated St. Louis Bison team. It will be a tough test for the Cobs, but if the team can pull out win it will be a huge momentum shift heading into the rest of the season.
