PHOENIX – The Phoenix Flames (4-3) bounce back after a 2-game losing streak in their week 7 performance that overwhelmed the Charleston Cadets (2-5), 171.46-104.98.

Two surprise performances from running back D’Ernest Johnson and tight end CJ Uzomah, along with some typically dominant performances from quarterback Aaron Rodgers (43.66 pts.) and wide receiver Terry McLaurin (27.20 pts.), allowed the Flames to score the second highest total of any team in the SCOM Fantasy Classic League. Johnson, coming off the bench and the Flames’ most recent addition to the squad, totaled 168 total yards and a touchdown in his first start (25.80 pts.). Uzomah, the up-and-coming tight end added to replace George Kittle, blew up for 91 yards and 2 touchdowns (27.10 pts.).

This group started the season strong, winning 3 of their first 4 games. After their 3-game win streak, the Flames hit a slump and dropped 2 in a row. Looking to get back on track and regain their early-season form, they rallied behind their two breakout stars in week 7. This really seemed to give the proven veterans some confidence.

“As long as we can keep these young studs getting us 20+ points per game, the rest of us older-guys can take us deep into the playoffs,” said quarterback Aaron Rodgers after seeing Johnson and Uzomah’s performances.

Although it seemed to be all Flames all week long, the Cadets saw a strong outing from possibly fantasy football’s most surprising star in running back/wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson. Patterson totaled 2 catches, 61 total yards, and a touchdown to give him his team’s highest score from a skill position player (18.40 pts.)

Fresh off the win, the Flames have ascended to 4-3 on the season and 6th place in the standings.

Next week, the Phoenix Flames will visit the Long Beach Sharks (3-4) at the brand new SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, CA. (CA).
