Orange Alligators chomp through week 5 competition
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orange Alligators showed their teeth once again in week 5, defeating the Honolulu Riptides with a score of 156.14-128.18. This was the first meeting between the two teams.
The Orange Alligators secured the win with their biggest contributor being Tom Brady. Brady threw for 411 yards, 5 touchdowns, and rushed for 13 yards, securing 61.74 for the Orange Alligators. Brady’s performance puts him at second in highest points total for this season. Coming off the bench this week was Antonio Brown and he did not disappoint. Brown received for 124 yards and received 2 touchdowns, securing the Orange Alligators 35.40 fantasy points. The defense allowed 25 points, fumbled only once, and had 2 sacks, and only securing 4 fantasy points. Contributing considerably less than the previous four weeks.
At a post-game press conference, Orlando’s head coach Bruce Arians shared his excitement as the Alligators continue on a winning streak.
“These players are really starting to settle in and find their groove on the field, I see many more victories in our future,” Arians said.
“The passing game is working great for us right now, were going to try to continue this momentum into next week,” Brady said.
On the opposing team, running back Austin Ekeler had quite the performance rushing for 66 yards, 2 touchdowns, receiving for 53 yards, and 1 touchdown. The defense had 3 sacks, one interception, and only let up 9 points.
Next week, the Orange Alligators will compete against Charleston Cadets on Sunday, Oct. 17. The game is set for 8 p.m. at the Sonoco Stadium and will be broadcasted on WCBD and 88.5 FM.
