CHARLESTON, S.C. – After being on a three-week losing streak, the Charleston Cadets pull a surprising win by beating the undefeated Orlando Hurricanes by .46 points (148.26-148.72).

The Cadets had their closest game yet to the number one ranked team in the league. The Cadets leading scorer was running back Cordarrelle Patterson, earning 43.40 points for his team. The second-leading scorer, not far behind Patterson is Cadets quarterback, Joe Burrow, racking up 41.32 points.

The biggest game-changer for the Cadets was wide receiver Henry Ruggs, who led them to victory. Ruggs caught three of six targets for 51 yards on Monday night, which was enough points to defeat the Hurricanes.

The Orlando Hurricanes wide receiver Deebo Samuel caught eight of 12 targets for 156 yards and two touchdowns this Sunday (41.20 points).

In the post-game press conference, Charleston’s Head Coach John Harbaugh was thrilled about this week’s win and says this will be the big shift for the Cadets as they head into week fives games.

“This is a huge win against the Hurricanes. I don’t think anyone anticipated the stats to be this close but this is a big confidence booster for us as we head into next week’s game feeling a lot stronger.”

“Our team needed this win to get everyone back into good spirits and ready to practice even harder for next week’s games.”

The Cadets are set to take on the Salt Lake City Cougars (0-3) next Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET. Kickoff will take place at the Cadet’s home stadium in Charleston, S.C. Fans can watch the game on WTAT or listen on 98.9 FM.
