KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Sacramento Salamanders hold onto the win in week threes matchup against the Knoxville Knighthawks, defeating them by a score of 178.02 to 150.72.
No surprise in another impressive week from the dynamic duo, quarterback Matthew Stafford and Wide Receiver Davante Adams. Stafford racked up 49.52 points while going 27 of 38 on pass attempts, 343 yards and 4 touchdowns, Adams added to the fire scoring 32.20 points, catching 12 balls for 132 yards and a touchdown in Green Bay’s late fourth quarter win against the 49ers. Notable production also coming from the running back James Robinson who had 15 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown and six catches for 46 yards, tallying up a total of 24.40 points.
The Knoxville Knighthawks did not go down without a fight. QB Josh Allen and RBs Kareem Hunt and Saquon Barkley combined for 108.12 points between the three of them. Allen threw for 358 yards and 4 passing touchdowns also adding a rushing touchdown, Hunt rushed for 81 yards and had 74 receiving yards out of the back field, while Barkley had a rushing touchdown and combined for 94 total yards on offense.
After the Rams dominating win over the reigning Super Bowl champs, the Buccaneers, QB Matthew Stafford talked about fitting in with his new team in a postgame press conference.
“I’m enjoying playing ball for the Rams, leading these guys, and I’m having a blast doing it”.
This week three victory has left the Sacramento Salamanders with a 2-1 record heading into week four.
Next week, the Salamanders will have home field advantage against the Honolulu Chameleons who are also 2-1 heading into week four.
