ORLANDO, Fla. – In the league’s third week of action, the Orlando Orange Alligators beat the Long Beach Sharks 171.18-148.32. This was the first meeting between the two teams.
Back at home after a week away in San Diego, Calif., the Alligators returned home to Orlando to compete against the Long Beach Sharks. The Alligators incredible play was largely due to the performance of their quarterback Tom Brady. Brady racked up a total of 56.68 points in Week 3, with 432 passing yards. Wide receivers D.J. Moore and Christian Kirk contributed to the win with 21.50 and 18.40 points respectively. Moore had a total of 126 receiving yards and Kirk had a total of 104 receiving yards.
“Offensively, it’s just a matter of each and every week if the quarterback plays well or not,” Orlando Orange Alligators head coach Bruce Arians said. “And our job is to make sure he’s comfortable and let him play well.”
“I think we’re all going to look hard to evaluate every part of what we’re doing,” Brady said. “It’s never really good enough in football. Those guys up front are trying to create space, and the backs are trying to run hard…. You’re losing all game basically and forced into more throwing than we want.”
On the opposing team, wide receiver Mike Williams lead the way for the Long Beach Sharks with a total of 34.20 points, with 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Sharks quarterback Dak Prescott had an impressive game with 34.12 points, completing 21 of 26 passes on Sunday. The Sharks defense had a great performance with three sacks and one interception. The Sharks missed an opportunity with zero points coming from tight end Eric Ebron.
The Alligators (3-0) move to the first position in the league as they head into Week 4. Next week, the Orlando Orange Alligators will compete against the Salt Lake City River Otters on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021. This game is set for 8 p.m. at the Rice-Eccles Stadium and will be aired on NBC.
