SAN JOSE, Calif — The San Jose Bandits were trailing the Austin Vipers until the last quarter when the Bandits secured the lead, defeating them 154.04 to 144.48.
Quarterback Russell Wilson had a strong performance with 388 passing yards and 84 rushing yards, racking up 47.92 points. The next leading scorer for the Bandits was quarterback Ben Roethlisberger making 268 passing yards and two touchdowns creating 27.62 points for the team.
The Vipers put up a strong opposition with wide receiver Tyler Lockett having 200 receiving yards with 56.90 points. The quarterback for the Vipers, Carson Wentz, had 359 passing yards and two touchdowns with a total of 35.76 points.
In the post-game conference, Head coach Cece Tyson was proud of the Bandits for their resilience and determination to overcome a lead.
“It is honestly hard to keep trying and failing to in terms of breaking a lead of the game,” Tyson said. “But I am proud that we did not give up hope and kept pushing through and finally coming out on top over the Vipers.”
The win over the Vipers brought the Bandits a record of 6-1.
Next week, the San Jose Vipers will be on the road and will be taking on the Harrison Bluestone Brawlers at Bridgeforth stadium.
