SAN ANTONIO – Thanks to an impressive game from quarterback Derek Carr, the Chaps were able to reach their second win of the season, with Carr earning 40.44 points, passing for 311 yards and scoring two touchdowns.
Deshaun Watson and Mike Evans both also had another impressive weekend, scoring 26.90 and 26.20 points, respectively.
Generals wide receiver Amari Cooper had a season-high in yardage this week, with a TD on 12 catches and 134 yards.
Following the win, Derek Carr said “This organization means everything to me. They stuck behind me through some hard times. Through some times our team, we struggled, there’s no doubt about it. But when you get on the other side of things, that’s a pretty cool thing, you know?”
On Carr’s performance, Team Lead Christina Lorenc said “I wouldn’t question one thing about Derek Carr; he’s given you everything he’s got, and he’s performing pretty darn good.”
The San Antonio Chaps (2-2-0) will look for win number three playing against the Louisville Mustangs (1-3-0). The Mustangs are coming off their first win of the season against the San Jose Bandits, where they move Up to 11th Place in the league.
