SALT LAKE CITY OTTERS LET ANOTHER CLOSE ONE SLIDE TO THE AUSTIN VIPERS IN WEEK 4

George Kittle had a terrific game after being out for the past two weeks with an injured knee.

AUSTIN, Tx. ⎼ The Salt Lake City Otters put up big numbers when they were not expected to but ultimately fell to the Austin Vipers by a score of 155.42 – 139.40 which dropped them down to 13th place. 

With the return of TE George Kittle comes the return of massive numbers from the standout Otters’ player. Kittle was out for the past two weeks with a sprained MCL and bone bruise in his left knee. He recorded 41.10 points for the Otters by having 182 receiving yards, one receiving touchdown, and 8 rushing yards. RB Mike Davis contributed 22.10 points for the Otters with 84 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, and 27 receiving yards.

The Otters’ were no match for the Vipers’ quarterbacks: Justin Herbert and Carson Wentz. Herbert threw 290 passing yards, three touchdowns, and had 14 rushing yards totalling 44.00 points for his team. Wentz threw 193 passing yards and one touchdown. He also had 37 rushing yards which added 29.42 points to the Vipers’ score.

Otters’ head coach Madi Wallace was disappointed in the team at the post-game conference stating, “I expected more from the team tonight. With Kittle’s return, I was really confident in the outcome of tonight’s game but we fell short. Kittle had a phenomenal game but the others didn’t contribute as much as I would have liked.”

This is the Otters’ third consecutive loss resulting in a 1-3 record. 

The Otters will return home to Salt Lake City next week to take on the Harrisonburg Bluestone Ballers.
