Orlando, Fla. – Despite a decent performance by Portland’s running backs Chris Carson and Todd Gurley, Matt Ryan’s performance of only 5.56 points and Brandon McManus’s -2.00 points made the Portland Purple Cobras fall to the Orlando Orcas 79.44 to 114.16 on Sunday afternoon in Orlando Florida.
Both Carson and Gurley’s individual efforts were good and usually enough to get a win. Josh Allen had a dominant performance of 27.28 points. On the other hand, Matt Ryan and our kicker Brandon McManus had abysmal performances this weekend. Matt Ryan suffered from an ankle sprain shorting his outing and hurting the Cobras while McManus just did not play well.
The Cobra’s defensive coordinator Mike Johnson said, “This was a tough final score, having our star quarterback getting hurt put us in a bad position, but the individual efforts by some of our players have us as a staff intrigued for what the rest of the season and possibly a playoff run could look like if we go unbeaten.”
Although the Portland Purple Cobras fans are worried about not making a playoff run with the absence of their star quarterback Matt Ryan, they will look to bounce back in a Sunday game at 1 p.m. as they take on the 4-2 San Antonio Defenders in week 8.
