ORLANDO, Fla. – Join the players of the Orlando Octopi as they help the people of Orlando get back on their feet after Hurricane Woo. The players are highly dedicated to the cause, so much so that the Octopi have organized an event to help raise donations named “The Octopi for Orlando: 5K for Hurricane Relief.” Most of the players on the team are participating and excited to help all those affected by the hurricane.

Hurricane Woo devastated Orlando and surrounding areas by causing over 200 million dollars in damages. The Octopi and its players are doing all they can to support this community by raising donations to rebuild the city. A. J. Green, wide receiver for the Octopi, stated, “These people are really hurting and we have a responsibility to give this area the help they deserve.”

The 5K will be held close to The Ocean stadium, in an area that was not as greatly affected by Hurricane Woo as most of the city. The players are actively getting involved by promoting the event through social media and adding #OctopiforOrlando on each post. “I think this is a great thing for us to be doing,” running back Leonard Fournette stated, “It’s the least we can do to help this community that always supports the team.”

The event will be held on August 28 , 2018. It will help raise awareness of relief that is still needed for this area that is suffering and help raise donations to repair what has been damaged.
