OMAHA, N. E. – The Omaha Goldenrods plan to hold a police appreciation night on Saturday, October 19th, at The Warren Buffet Dome during their game with the Louisville Lions.
The event is in honor of the Goldenrods Live. Act. And Stay Golden campaign and is dedicated to honoring local law enforcement in Omaha. Attending law enforcement officials will have the opportunity to participate in the game’s opening coin toss and address the crowd on issues regarding public safety. The national anthem will be performed at halftime by Chief of Police Todd Schmaderer.
Fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt highlighting the name of the event and official Goldenrods logo. The Goldenrods hope this event will lower the veil between law enforcement and Omaha citizens.
“The Goldenrods have a lot of respect amongst the Omaha community. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to foster our relationship with the city’s residents. We are thankful for the Goldenrods welcoming us in this season,” said Omaha Chief of Police Todd Schmaderer.
With this event, the Goldenrods hope to exemplify their unified support for the police force in Omaha. This stance is unified with The Goldenrods Live. Act. And Stay Golden campaign, which they hope will ultimately increase public safety in Omaha.
“The Goldenrods are big supporters of law enforcement and it’s great to be able to partner with the Omaha Police Force to celebrate everything they do for our city,” said Goldenrods Head Coach Jack Fitzpatrick.
The Omaha Police Department will receive $10 for each ticket sold. For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.omahagoldenrods.com/police. Check for event updates on the Goldenrods Twitter.
