Austin vs. St. Louis, 10.25.18

The Austin Atmosphere once again came out on top at a home game Wednesday night against the St. Louis Archers by obtaining their 6thstraight win in the league, just surpassing their division rivalries, 95.24-45.52. Austin quarterback, Kirk Cousins once again helped lead Austin to their victory, completing a total of 241 passing yards and 2 passing touchdown for a total of 26.54 points. Running back David Johnson also had an impressive game, rushing for 39 yards, with an additional 3 receptions for 31 yards. He totaled 10 points, playing yet another good game this season. The St. Louis Archers’ quarterback had a bye week, so the team was led by wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders. He had 28 passing yards and 1 touchdown. He also led the team with 6 receiving passes and 102 yards. He scored 32.32 points. Running back, Nyheim Hines also helped the team out with 47 rushing yards and 5.20 points. The Memphis Suns wide receivers both Hopkins and Cooper Kupp out hustled the opposing Atmosphere’s but were not enough to lead to victory in the end.  This was the Atmosphere’s sixth consecutive victory (6-1). They were able to hold their position of fourth place in the league.

Match-up Preview vs. Boulder Black Bear

  • The Boulder Black Bear is projected to win their matchup against the Austin Atmosphere during their game Wednesday at Austin Atmosphere’s Lone Star Stadium. The Black Bears are projected to score 120.05 points and the Atmosphere’s are projected to score 105.13 points.
  • Although the projected matchup between these two teams seems to be even based on positions, this week’s game is likely to be a close one, leaning merely 15 points in favor of Boulder.
  • Both teams have seen solid play from their starting quarterbacks so far, this season. Kirk Cousins is the 5thhighest rated quarterback at the moment with 266.88 points and 2,162 passing yards and Blake Bortles, the Black Bear quarter back, checks in below him at 17thwith 170.32 points and 1,735 passing yards.

  • QB Kirk Cousins is currently ranked 5thin the league with 266.88 points and has not thrown an interception in two games. He’s played strongly over the past few weeks, spreading passes across the boards to all receivers. Cousins is expected a strong start this Sunday against the Black Bears.
  • The Atmosphere made another trade, dropping running back Rashaad Penny and adding wide receiver Jakeem Grant. Grant is thought to be a great addition to Austin, having scored 126.50 points this season and 216 receiving yards.
  • Marlon Mack, who suffered a hamstring injury is beginning to practice and is assumed to play in this week’s coming up game.
