Join the Austin Rockets at Barkitecture in downtown Austin, TX. This event, hosted by Animal Lovers of Austin inc, is hosting their event to raise awareness and proceeds by selling unique doghouses. This year’s proceeds will be donated to Meals on Wheels as well as Emancipet, and Bastrop Animal Rescue. Don’t forget to stop by and enjoy the event with your local Austin Rockets as well as benefiting a great cause!

The Austin Rockets have recently paired up with the local community food bank to serve meals to community members in need this upcoming Saturday right at 6500 Metropolis Drive in Austin!

 

Austin Rockets quarterback, Matt Ryan is volunteering this Halloween weekend at NFL’s Play on our Team event. Matt will be informing kids on how to safetly play football while still having fun. After the flag football fun, Matt Ryan and other NFL quarterbacks will be around for pictures autographs and trick-or-treating. Sign your kid’s up today for a spooky fun Saturday!

 

 

 

Game Recaps

The Austin Rockets had a very hard game against the Orlando Sharks (0-5-0) in the beginning but were able to gain another victory this season, propelling them into a 3-2-0 season record. Quarterback Matt Ryan had a very solid game with 285 passing yards and 1 pass touchdown gaining him 28.40 points. Rockets’ second quarterback, Case Keenum had a strong game as well with 377 passing yards and 1 interception as well as 2 passing touchdowns giving the Austin Rockets 40.08 points. Both of the Rockets’ running backs, LeSean McCoy and James White had very strong games both having over 75 recorded yards and giving us 12.80 and 23.70 points this week. Tyler Lockett one of the Rockets’ wide receivers had a very strong game of 98 recorded yards and 1 recorded touchdown gaining the Austin Rockets 26.80 points. The Rockets’ second wide receiver, Michael Thomas had a very good came too having 74 recorded yards giving the Austin Rockets 11.40 points last week. Rockets’ kicker, Chris Boswell made 5 out of 6 extra point attempts gaining the Austin Rockets 4.00 points. Finally, Rockets’ defense, came in strong with 1 interception and one fumble to give the Austin Rockets 10.00 points last week.

 

Match-up Preview

  • This upcoming week 6 the Austin Rockets 3-2-0, take on the Harrisonburg Valley Bees 1-4-0. This is projected to be a close game between quarterbacks Matt Ryan versus Alex Smith.
  • The Austin Rockets will be on their toes to watch every move by the Harrisonburg Valley Bees to not have their record move to 3-3-0. The coaches of the Austin Rockets are doing their best to keep moving up in the stats to ensure a spot in the playoffs.
  • There will also be a strong matchup between both teams’ running backs with all players projected points in the double digits.
  • Both teams backup quarterbacks, Chris Keenum and Russell Wilson projected to score 13.76 and 16.18 points.
  • It will be interesting to see which wide receiver comes on top with the Harrisonburg Valley Bees’ Nelson Agholor projected 11.11, however the Austin Rocket’s strong wide receiver, Michael Thomas has a bye week.

 

Austin Rockets Season Notes

  • One of Austin Rockets’ strongest running backs, Jay Ajayi tore his ACL and is suspected to get ACL reconstruction this Thursday. This is one of the biggest hits for the Austin Rockets’ since Jay Ajayi will most likely be out for the rest of the season. He was one of the Rockets’ strongest players with multiple carries and touchdowns per game.
  • Wide receiver, Michael Thomas has a bye week for this week.
  • Running back, Mark Ingram also has a bye week.
  • Austin’s local government is continuously working on expanding their infrastructure to better their community. This expansion will include Growth Centers and Corridors. This project, The Austin around you will include increased routine maintenance as well as fulfilling the community’s vision of what the city should look like. This is extremely beneficial to the Austin Rockets and the citizens because it increases the attractiveness of the city resulting in an increase of tourism for home games as well as other community events.
