Game Recaps

The Austin Rockets almost had the Louisville Lions this week, who were only leading by 2 points. The Rockets remain in the upper half of the standings in 5thplace. The final score of the game was tight at 144.94 for the Rockets and 146.22 for the Lions. Quarterback Matt Ryan for the Rockets came back with a stunning performance compared to the past few weeks, bringing in 61.16 points. Matt Ryan, who is the fourth ranked quarterback in the league, outplayed the Lion’s quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who only put up 49.02 points. Unfortunately, after his great performance for the Rockets, tight end Jake Butt has been placed on injured reserve for his knee, but the team remains hopeful for weeks to come. Wide receiver Michael Thomas came to play this week putting up 23.90 points and 129 yards against the Lions. The Austin Rockets remain in good standings with an average of 144.94 points heading into the rest of the season.

Match-up Preview

  • The Austin Rockets play the Orlando Sharks in week 4 who are ranked 15 with a 0-4-0 record.
  • The Sharks have quarterback Tom Brady but he has not been yielding as high of points as the Rockets quarterback, Matt Ryan.
  • The Oklahoma City Lightning, who lost to the Austin Rockets in week 1, currently holds the #2 spot in their section. The Lightning has not lost a game since week 1 against the Rockets and are on the come up.
  • The Portland Predators with 2014.18 points, has been listed as the top scoring team for two weeks now and has a record of 3-0, making them one of 4 team in the league with a perfect record.
  • Austin Rockets (#5) plays the Brooklyn Drivers (#6) this week, both teams have a 1-2 record but the rockets are ahead with 414.90 points compared to the Drivers who have 353.58 points.
  • The San Diego Jack Rabbits traded wide receiver Jarius Wright for wide receiver Antonio Callaway Wednesday, Sept. 26 right before the start of the Football week.
  • Portland Predator’s wide receiver Mike Wallace was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday, leading the Predators to trade him for Chris Godwin.

Austin Rockets Season Notes

  • The Austin Rockets picked up Mark Ingram despite his suspension, because they believe when he comes back in week 5 he will perform well for the team based on his performance last season where he ran 1,124 yards and had 12 touchdowns.
  • The Rockets have not traded many players, everyone is healthy and performing well so far, this season.
  • The largest motorcycle rally, ROT Rally, for 24 years has taken place in Austin, TX. The ROT Rally is held at the Travis County Expo Center and attracts thousands of bikers and enthusiasts who come and enjoy the entertainment from bands. Retrieved from: https://do512.com/rotrally201auts
  • On Sunday, September 30 the CC4C MicroMarathon is bringing together thousands of families to run for children with rare conditions. This run is raising money for children with undiagnosed conditions, in order pay for more research for their conditions. Thousands are gathering in downtown Austin for this event on Sunday morning.
