SAN ANTONIO, Oct 22, 2012 – The San Antonio Defenders (4-3) won their fourth game of the season, defeating In Rooney We Trust 94.18 to 67.90 in Week 7.
Running back Adrian Peterson led the team with 21.90 points overall on 153 rushing yards and one touchdown. Quarterback Eli Manning put up 13.88 points for the Defenders with 337 yards and one touchdown pass.
“We really had to work harder on offense without LeSean McCoy,” said Manning. “I think the guys really stepped up to the plate.”
Vick Ballard also contributed 10.03 points in his first game starting with the Defenders, rushing for 84 yards. The Vikings defense also contributed an exceptional 18 points to the team’s victory.
Scoring big for In Rooney We Trust was wide receiver Kevin Walter with 13.40 points and quarterback Sam Bradford with 12.20 points.
“It was a tough game.” said Bradford, “but we couldn’t pull off the win against such a strong offense.”
With a fourth win under their belts, the Defenders look to keep the win streak alive as they head into week 8. Their next game is against the Honolulu Seasiders who are currently 2-4.
