Game Recap

The woes continue for the Fresno Fuegos as after coming out with a hot 3-1 start, they have dropped their last five, including Sunday’s loss to the Madison Moose by a score of 146.28-113.64. Fresno found most of their scoring come from the combination of their two quarterbacks, Marcus Mariota and Jacoby Brissett, as they totaled a combined 58.84 points. Despite the phenomenal quarterback play, the rest of the Fuegos struggled. There were a few bright spots as Adrian Peterson rushed for 159 yards and added 16.70 points and their kicker, Giorgio Tavecchio, connected on a 53-yard field goal as the clock expired for halftime, and finished the game with 11.00 points. Kelvin Benjamin ended up sitting out of the game due to injury and Kareem Hunt has not been able to perform nearly as well as he did in the beginning of the season. With the entire team struggling over these past few weeks, the Fuegos were no match for the fire power the Madison Moose came out with on Sunday with five players totaling 17 or more points including quarterback Russel Wilson, running back Damien Williams, wide out Doug Baldwin and tight ends, Jared Cook and Evan Ingram.

Matchup Preview

  • After taking a week off, the Fuegos add back starting quarterback, Tom Brady, to their lineup.
  • Kareem Hunt will be benched this week due to poor performance over the losing streak, the team hopes this will make him more determined to bounce back from his slump.
  • The Fuegos will look to slow down the Valley Bee’s wide out, Will Fuller, who has scored 7 touchdowns over his last five contests.
  • The Valley Bee’s quarterback, Jared Goff is coming off of the best game of his career where he totaled 311 yards and 4 touchdowns, providing the team with a fantastic 41.44 points.
  • Jordy Nelson has severely struggled throughout this year, and will look to turn things around this week with a favorable matchup against a weak secondary defense.
  • Adrian Peterson has looked strong as a new acquirement for the Fuegos, this week he will look to put up another 100 yard performance for them.
