Week 6 Recap

The Virginia Beach Sharks end their losing streak with a nail biter against the Oklahoma City Orioles. The Sharks came out on top 156.18-141.46, bumping them up to 7th place in the league. Virginia Beach outcomes seem to follow quarterback Eli Manning’s performance as he earned nearly the same amount of points (50) as he has the past 3 weeks combined, with 403 yards and 3 touchdowns on Sunday. Quarterback Andy Dalton also continued to dominate racking in 32 points for the Sharks. The Orioles couldn’t keep up as quarterback Marcus Mariota contributed the most points (38). The Sharks defense also controlled the field as they had nearly double the points and six tackles over the Orioles; defense is what set them in a safe position to ultimately earn the W with a stuff and a loss of 4 yards on a running play. Next week, the Sharks (3-3-0) will take on the Richmond Renegades (2-4-0) as they work to stay victorious.

Matchup Preview (Upcoming match up)

  • Virginia Beach Sharks (2-4-0, #7 ranking) will play the Richmond Renegades (2-4-0, #9 ranking) in Week 7.
  • Quarterbacks Andy Dalton and Eli Manning continue as leading scorers for the Sharks, along with Renegades quarterbacks Drew Brees and Andrew Luck.
  • The Renegades quarterbacks have a combined 54 points over the Sharks and, with the way Virginia Beach has been performing, the result depends largely on Eli Manning’s statistics.
  • The Richmond Renegades have a 3-game losing streak while the Virginia Beach Sharks came out with a W in their previous matchup.
  • The Sharks have scored 71.6 more points than those scored against them, while the Renegades have scored 141.9 fewer points than those scored against them.
  • The Sharks are favored to win by roughly 21 points in week 7.
